Arthurs Point, an easy bus commute.
Beautiful Arthurs Point is only 6km from downtown Queenstown, or 10 minutes on the local bus service, Ritchies Connectabus. the area is named after the gold miner, Thomas Arthur, who found gold on the beach here alongside the Shotover River. Today that very same stretch of river is the home of the famous Shotover Jet, probably the most famous adventure river boat trip in the world. In the old days this road was part of the route to the goldfields of Skippers Canyon and the Moonlight, today it is the road to the ski field of Coronet Peak and old Arrowtown. The hotels and and hot pools of Arthurs Point are a great favourite of visitors wanting to get away from the bustle of Queenstown, yet close enough to be able to enjoy the delights of the town and the space of the countryside.
Return ticket Coronet Peak Hotels, Arthurs Point to downtown Queenstown is $10.00 - this can only be purchased from bus driver at Coronet Peak Hotel stop at Arthurs Point.
Your best deal is to buy a 1 Day Pass for $33 (adult, or $17 for a child). Use of a 1 Day Pass allows you unlimited travel for the day on the Queenstown bus network. Get on and off the buses as much as you like.
